17 weeks

Excuse the way I look! I was sick and tired but needed to get this picture taken.

I'm 17 weeks!

 Pregnancy Highlights:

Due Date: October 18, 2013

How Far Along: 17 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby O is the size of an onion or a turnip!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 5 lbs

Maternity Clothes: I’ve officially made my way into maternity pants. They are just so much more comfortable on my every going belly. I still wear normal shirts, but I must say wearing the maternity bottoms make such a big difference in comfort especially after lunch! :)

Gender: GIRL!

 Anniston Joy O'Neal

Movement: None yet! It should be soon! I can’t wait!

Sleep: When I sleep well, I usually dream. I dreamed again about precious Anniston! :) I will say I am struggling with sleeping on my side. I LOVE to sleep on my back, so this is a big transition for me. I bought a Snoogle maternity pillow, which helps me go to sleep on my side, but I still find myself waking up in the middle of the night on my back because it is more comfortable. Hopefully this gets easier!

What I miss: Caffeine, Boiled Crawfish, & Good Medicine when sick!

Cravings: Anything SALTY!!! Salt & Vinegar chips, Dill Pickle Chips, and actual Pickles are my favorite right now! I can now finally chew my favorite gum again! I love the green Five gum. I have chewed this for years, but during my first trimester the taste or smell of it made me so nauseas! Glad to have it back in my regular rotation!

Symptoms: My headaches have gotten better since seeing my chiropractor. Unfortunately, I’ve been sick with another cold this week. This is my third cold since being pregnant! :( I’m hoping that since school is almost out, my immune system will have a break over the summer.

Emotions: I went to my mom’s house this past weekend to celebrate Mother’s Day and my sister’s graduation. J and I are so blessed because my sisters and mom have already gone crazy buying stuff for Anniston. My mom took me to this clothing boutique in Alexandria, where she used to buy my smocked clothing and Willbeth dresses. She purchased Anniston some of the most adorable things!!! My sisters have also started buying her precious shoes and onsies that are so girly and stylish! We all can’t wait to dress this sweet baby girl!

The best part about this weekend was spending Mother’s Day with my mom and Meme going through my old baby clothes. I was so shocked at how well many of my little smocked dresses held up. Also, my Meme had sewed so many blankets and little gowns for me that are still in great shape. My Meme kept some of the dresses to hand wash with her special soap that will make them look brand new if they did show any signs of fading. She is also so excited to start sewing Anniston some new blankets. It was such a special moment two share with the some of the in amazing women in my family. It really got me excited about dressing Anniston, and it was definitely an afternoon I will cherish forever!

When I got home J had cleaned the entire house including the floors and laundry. He gave me the sweetest card with a Motherhood gift card. My sweet mother-in-law gave me a Willow Tree figurine of a pregnant woman with a Victoria Secret gift card. And my precious mom took me on a shopping spree for maternity clothes on Saturday. I have plenty of maternity clothes now! I have to say it was an awesome Mother’s Day weekend! I am feeling so blessed!

Looking forward to: I have another doctor’s appointment with my specialist in Shreveport this week. I’m excited to get to see baby girl on the ultrasound machine again! :)
